On Wednesday, August 5, members of the Lake Superior Violent Offender Task Force (LSVOTF) and partner agencies executed a search warrant on West 11th Street and on 35-year-old Deandre Barnes. Barnes is on pre-trial release from a February 2026 arrest for First-Degree Sale of Fentanyl and has prior convictions for Home Invasion with a Firearm in 2009 and Armed Robbery in 2015.
While the LSVOTF executed the search warrant, Barnes attempted to flee but was quickly taken into custody. During the search, investigators seized approximately 39 grams of fentanyl, two digital scales, fentanyl packaging materials, and $1,738 in proceeds from drug sales. He was lodged at the St. Louis County Jail on pending charges of First-Degree Sale of Fentanyl.
Great work by the LSVOTF for arresting a repeat, violent offender who continues to try to sell substances in our community!
