Today, we pause to remember a firefighter who made the ultimate sacrifice while assisting in the July Lightning Incident in Ely.

Our thoughts are with their family, their department, their crew, and all of the firefighters who worked alongside them.

May they never be forgotten.

Introducing our new Rescue 5!🚑

Our old rig, pictured on the right, is a 2001 edition, which will be going into retirement after 20 years of service for our community! This was donated to us by Gold Cross Ambulance Service.

On the left is our new 2016 edition, which was donated through the same program by Mayo Clinic Ambulance!

The donation made the ambulance free to our department. The decals, done by Waldo Signworks, were funded by the Normanna Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary!

This new rig will allow us to safely and reliably continue providing top notch emergency medical and rehab services to our community and neighboring departments for years to come!

Thank you to Mayo Clinic Ambulance for this generous donation! We are deeply grateful.

Our Normanna members have once again answered the call to assist with the multiple wildfires in the Boundary Waters. Crews have been working alongside firefighters from across Minnesota and beyond, helping protect communities, natural resources, and the wilderness we all cherish.

We are proud of our firefighters for their dedication, professionalism, and willingness to serve wherever they are needed. They put in long hours, day and night, away from their families and their jobs. While some of our members were deployed, the rest of our department was ready to respond to emergencies here at home.

Stay safe, follow fire restrictions, and do your part to help prevent future wildfires.

Thank you to all the agencies working together to protect Minnesota’s people, communities, and wild places. ❤️🚒🌲

Spent Saturday morning supporting our friends over at Rice Lake Volunteer Fire Department with their Annual Red Run 5k.

The smoke cleared just in time for the race so it was a beautiful morning with a great turnout!

🎉Cheers to FF/EMT Sara who recently received her Fire Officer 1 certification.🎉

Sara, aka the world’s greatest Secretary, has been with Normanna VFD for 5 years. Sara has showed nothing but enthusiasm and grit since the day she showed up and is a monumental part of our grant success amongst so many other behind the scene things that she takes care of. Thank you for your unwavering dedication, sister!

Our department assisted in setting up the race course, finish line, and the medical tent.
