My mother instilled in me, the importance of an education at an early age; thus the name of our location with an intentional, and purposeful "JO!" Education, is indeed the tool necessary to change the trajection of your life. It is important to me, that everyone have access to a quality education.
“There is power in face-to-face small group tutoring, and wrap-around services to complement the traditional education that takes place in our public schools. There is also power in providing resources that empower and uplift the family as a unit. Providing resources that address the needs of the "whole child" is imperative to providing a quality education overall, and The JOy of Literacy Learning Center provides an indoor and outdoor environment conducive to effectively doing so. This time we are living in is a crucial time to address the learning gaps and disparities in education brought on by the pandemic, as well as those that existed long previously. The majority of the programs offered at The JOy of Literacy Learning Center are targeted to address the literacy gap in the Commonwealth of Virginia...at least in our community!

Our Story

Neville Empowerment Network is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to inspiring, uplifting, education, and empowering communities. We strive to do so through the following avenues: • Annual You CAN Do Anything Too Symposium * You CAN Do Anything Too Literacy Club * Parenting Education Seminars - Court Ordered, and STEP. • Be A Singular Sensation: This blog provides news from an urban single parent perspective to: engage, enlighten, inform, inspire and connect single parents in the Prince William County area; and to encourage them to be Singular Sensations! It has a TV Show component that airs on the Comcast Community Channel in Prince William County. Later this year, parenting classes/groups will be facilitated through Be A Singular Sensation! • We host an annual “Birthday Bag Drive” to make birthdays possible for youth in transition. • Prince William County Minority Business Network
