It is with profound sadness we announce longtime BIA member Margaret Mary Murphy (nee Burke) of Cresskill, NJ passed away on May 24, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Co Mayo, Ireland.

Visitation is on Thursday, May 28th from 4 - 8 pm at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 S. Washington Ave, Bergenfield, NJ. Funeral Mass is on Friday, May 29th, 10am at St. John's Church, Bergenfield. Interment to follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ.

Our heartfelt condolences go to her family & friends especially her daughters; Maureen Zoch & husband Peter, Anne Marie Rutkowski & husband Jeff, Claire Fahy & husband Patrick, Colette Dunn & husband Thomas, grandchildren & great-grandchildren. And her siblings Peter, Thomas, Bernadette, Timothy, Jenny & Michael. Margaret was pre-deceased by her husband, Patrick Murphy and sister Bridget.

Margaret will be remembered for her dedication to her family and her love of Irish music and dance. She will be forever missed by her family, friends and the Bergen Irish.

Please keep the Murphy family in your prayers may Margaret rest in eternal peace. 🙏

On Thursday May 21st at 11am, there will be a Headstone Rededication Ceremony honoring NYPD Lieutenant Ralph Martin, who served with the NYPD for 36 years from 1907 to 1943.

The ceremony will take place at Woodside Cemetery, located at the corner of West Madison Avenue and Prospect Avenue.

All are welcome to attend.
