Berry Shoals Elementary School is formerly Berry Shoals Intermediate School, and during the 2024-2025 school year it will be opening as an elementary school to serve K4-5th grade students located in Duncan, SC within Spartanburg District Five. Berry Shoals Elementary School (formerly known as Berry Shoals Intermediate School), serves students in Kindergarten - 5th grade in Spartanburg District Five in South Carolina.

All social media accounts and comments/posts are reviewed by the Spartanburg District Five Public Relations Department
To ensure conversations remain informative, respectful of diverse viewpoints, and lawful, comments including the following are not permitted:


OFF TOPIC- Comments not related to the original subject of page entries will be removed or hidden
SPAM- Comments focused on selling a product or service will not be posted
PERSONAL ATTACKS – If a reader disagrees with a post, the district encourages direct contact to the Department of Public Relations. Community members are asked to refrain from personal attacks or being disrespectful of others. ILLEGAL- Laws governing use of copyrights, trade secrets, etc will be followed
LANGUAGE- The District reserves the right to hide or delete posts containing profanity, discriminatory language, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive or derogatory content, threats, obscene or sexually explicit content. This includes specific names of teachers, students, and other District Five employees and patrons.

🧪🍦 Learning about matter has never been so sweet! Mrs. McGrath’s second graders explored the properties of matter while making their very own ice cream floats! 🥤 Students got to observe how the ingredients changed and interacted while enjoying a delicious hands-on science lesson.

Students in Ms. Beers’ Gifted and Talented classes put their creativity, critical thinking, and presentation skills to the test as they pitched their innovative ideas to a panel of special guest “sharks”! We loved seeing our students think like entrepreneurs and bring their ideas to life!

👻🎃 After reading Spookley the Square Pumpkin, Mrs. Atwood’s class put their writing skills to the test! ✏️ Students created their own recipe book pages, complete with an ingredient list and step-by-step directions. Then, they got to follow their own “how-to” recipes and make their very own Spookley! 🎃🧡 Learning is always more fun when you can bring your writing to life! 🐝
