We are so grateful for the likes and shares we received as part of our gratitude and #GivingTuesday campaign. Thank you.

We also held back one gratitude video to close out the campaign. You might say we saved the best for last. Thanks to our good friend Joe Hurd from The Blair County Chamber of Commerce for his words of wisdom, humor, and gratitude.

Hi, this is Bill Kurtis, Midday Personality on WALY 103.9 . I have to say I am thankful for the feeling of safety, provided, not only by the beautiful mountain ranges all around us, but by the men and women who protect us each and every day, and those that take care of us in emergencies, or the events of every day life.

I love the people of Blair County, … in all of our communities. I know of nowhere else that the community comes together in all types of situations, … Good or Bad! Best People on Earth!

Dear Friends,

Thank You.

We don’t get to say that nearly enough.

It’s no secret that it’s been a tough year for all of us. Through it all, you have stuck with us. You have given your time and support and encouragement. Thank You. As friends of United Way and members of the Blair County community, you have shown what it means to LIVE UNITED. Thank You.

As we head into this season of giving, we wanted to pause a moment for gratitude. Over the next few days, we’ll share why some of our friends are thankful to live, work, and play in Blair County. It's a special place. We’ll get back to the business of fundraising on #GivingTuesday with our ambitious push to raise $5,000 in one day. We know we can do it because we’ve seen the character of this community.

For now, with humility and gratitude… your United Way and Family Resource Center team,

Denise, Sharon, Imola, Barb, Julie, and Matt

We wish you a Happy Thanksgiving.

THANK YOU

I am so grateful for your support throughout my AmeriCorps service year and on my journey to Miss Pennsylvania. Your contribution also helps raise funds for scholarships for young women across PA! United Way of Blair County is dedicated to building a better Blair County by raising funds and cultivating volunteers to provide non-profit organizations with resources to address crucial needs in our community. UWBC makes lasting changes in our community by targeting resources toward locally identified needs: education, access to health, economic mobility, & emergency needs. UWBC’s goal is to help all Blair County residents attain these four building blocks for a good life. Sponsoring the Family Resource Center of Blair County is one of the ways UWBC makes a positive impact on early childhood education. Family Centers increase parent involvement and knowledge, children's success in school, school readiness, and the health and welfare of families. Family Centers help to prevent child abuse and neglect and help the Commonwealth through reduced crime, increased labor market benefits, and healthcare savings.
