EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
FULL-TIME LIGHT EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
The Village of Dundee is seeking to fill a vacancy for a full-time (40 hours per week) light equipment operator in the Department of Public Works. The individual selected for this position will perform a variety of tasks, some of which will require considerable physical effort, use of manual and power tools, and use of light equipment and vehicles. Demonstrated skill in the maintenance and repair of vehicles and mechanical equipment desired. A full description of duties is available upon request in the Village offices. Interested applicants must be able to demonstrate the following:
• Possession of a valid Michigan Vehicle Operator’s License.
• Possession of a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Type B.
• Graduate from an accredited high school or equivalent.
• Familiarity with construction materials, equipment, and supplies used in public works activities.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of physical tasks, with or without the use of tools and equipment, including the ability to lift and/or move objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds.
• Ability to critically assess situations, solve problems and work effectively under stress within deadlines and subject to changes in work priorities.
• Ability to establish working relationships and use good judgment, initiative, and resourcefulness when dealing with employees, Village officials, contractors and the general public.
Pay for this position starts at $29.39 per hour with an increase to $31.39 and a fringe benefits package provided following successful completion of a 90-day probationary period.

Effective Immediately and until further notice:

Due to air quality concerns, Dundee Volunteer Fire Department Chief Dan Motylinski has issued a directive that ALL outside burning is hereby suspended in the village and township until the air quality improves.

When that directive is cancelled, another message will be issued. Thank you for your cooperation.
