"I had so much fun welcoming the children back to school on the first day of school. Brought back so many beautiful memories! I spent many days in that same line with my children and grandchildren. I am so proud of the work that Doctor Headley, the staff, and the children do as they continue to keep Dundee Elementary Academy an A school!" Love, Commissioner Annette Wilson.

ATTENTION RESIDENTS

Duke Energy will be upgrading equipment on transmission poles along a section of the Dundee–Lake Wales transmission line in Polk County. Work will take place within the Town of Dundee and the City of Lake Wales.

To help keep local stakeholders and the community informed, below is an overview of the upcoming construction activities:

• Timing: Work is scheduled to begin in early August, weather permitting, and will generally take place during daylight hours.

• Work Area: Construction will occur along a section of the Dundee–Lake Wales transmission line extending from Scenic Highway in Dundee to N. Miami Street in Lake Wales. A photo of the project map for reference to help illustrate the work area is below.

• Helicopter Activity: A helicopter will be used to assist crews with installing new equipment on transmission poles. Designated landing zones will be established to support safe helicopter takeoff and landing activities. Residents and motorists in the area may notice increased helicopter activity while this work is underway.

• Temporary Work Zones: Temporary work zones may be established around transmission poles to help protect the public and construction crews. Bucket trucks and other construction equipment may also be present throughout the project area.

• Electric Service: No interruptions to electric service are anticipated as a result of this work.

As with any construction activity, schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
