From the Tom Disbrow/Glen Miller collection, we’re sharing these slides of the Yates County Fire Training Center, located at what is now the Yates County Fairgrounds. The building can be clearly identified by the red lettering on the side reading “Yates County Fire Training Center.”

Did you ever attend training here? We’d love to hear your memories—share them in the comments.

History is heading to the auction block!

This 1919 Ford American LaFrance is a twin to the one the Dundee Fire Company bought new in 1919 for $2,000. While Dundee’s original truck has been "lost to history," this survivor shows us what it looked like patrolling the village over a century ago.

The truck on the right in the black and white photo is the only known surviving picture of Dundee's truck.

Check out this amazing piece of local history! 📸

This is one of the oldest known photographs of the Dundee Fire Co., known back then as the G.P.L. Hook and Ladder Co. The apparatus you see is believed to be a Rumsey & Co. Hook and Ladder Truck, purchased by the company in 1888.

We had a great time at our annual Old Timers Dinner celebrating the people who make our fire family so special. A huge thank you to Ray Miller for an incredible 70 years with the Dundee Fire Department and to Dan Petersen for his 12 years of service as President of the Benevolent Association. We’re grateful for your dedication, leadership, and the example you’ve set for all of us!

It was great to see everyone together sharing stories, laughs, and traditions that keep our fire family strong.
