This week we would like to give a shout out to all of our dad’s at DEA and wish you a fantastic Father’s Day weekend!

Another shout out goes to our teachers that have been preparing for an amazing school year this week at DEA, our class lists are done and our teams have been planning together to make this the best year yet at DEA. You will receive your post card in the mail a week before orientation from your teacher. Every year we get better together! 🦉🌎❤️🤿🐙🦀🌊 Our students have been working hard at home with our summer learning program, this week we would like to give a shout out to Sara, Gabriel, Francesca, and Kevniel for doing over 4 hours of Amira so far this week.

We are half way through our June Summer Learning program! There are 2 weeks left for students to use AR, Amira & Freckle. Congratulations to Penny for completing 305 minutes of Amira last week and Tyler T. for completing 381 minutes of Amira this week…WOW that’s amazing! Congratulations to Sweden for reaching her goal and joining the Million Word Club this week, I wonder who we will celebrate next week?

We are so thankful for our current & former students that came to help clean up our campus! A big shout out to Denise Sepulveda, our school social worker, and especially Home Depot in Lake Wales  for donating sample paint and brushes for this much-needed project at DEA🦉🌎❤️🤿🐙🦀🌊Polk County Public Schools

School is out, but Focused on Excellence continues! Congratulations to our next winner: Lacy Tomlin from Dundee Elementary Academy.

Lacy is a paraeducator at Dundee Elementary.

“I love my job because I work alongside incredibly supportive colleagues who have given me guidance and helped me grow,” she said. “I am proud to work with a team that is dedicated to helping students achieve their ‘Aha!’ moments. That makes my job especially meaningful.”

This was the sixth year of our Focused on Excellence campaign, which recognizes the hard work and contributions of PCPS employees. Once again, employees were asked to nominate their colleagues from various departments for a chance to receive some great prizes, and be featured on our communication channels.

Lacy received an EXCELLENT package of gifts made possible by our sponsors: A.D.
