Rotary Centennial Nature Center Visitors center and nature center at Honeymoon Island State Park, overlooking St. Joseph Sound. Barrier island & history exhibits, gift shop, scenic views.

Situated above the sea wall facing St. Joseph Sound, with spectacular views of sea grass beds, mangroves, mud flats, and oyster beds. Lots of birds including spoonbills, egrets, osprey and pelicans, and an abundance of marine life.

Snakes and Stuff - Reptiles and Amphibians of Honeymoon Island

Meet: Rotary Centennial Nature Center at Honeymoon Island State Park
Optional Donation: $35 per participant

Description: Park Ranger Tim Marshall introduces Honeymoon Island's most "revered" and sometimes most "disliked" creatures. Learn about the snakes, turtles, lizards, anoles, ghekos, skinks, frogs, and toads that inhabit several natural communities. Learn to accurately ID venomous vs non-venomous snakes. There will be no live animals, out of respect to them, however there will be info packs to take home, fun activities, and light refreshments including a wide variety of snacks! - Come have fun, bring the gang!

Mollusks are Hungry! What’s for DInner?

Description: Do you want to be As Happy As A Clam? Ever wondered what snails and clams eat, how they survive & stay protected from predation? Join Conchologist Debra McCreary to learn about carnivorous, omnivore, and vegetarian univalves and bivalves and how they eat and adapt to hide from predators. You will see how our shells have met their demise and how resilient they are. Some smother their prey, some are wedgers, harpooners, sifters, drillers, and so many other ways to eat each other. You will look at a shell on the beach in a totally different way. - You may not want to be a Happy Clam! Light refreshments. Take-home info.

Preregister and pay reccommended donation online. Or simply show up the day of the workshop for complimentary attendance. Park entrance fees apply.
