Since motorized craft launches were paused at the Dunedin Causeway, we've enjoyed a much safer beach experience with fewer safety liabilities, alongside a major comeback for local wildlife. The Suncoast Sierra Club recommends keeping this a permanent non-motorized zone so everyone can safely enjoy a thriving, peaceful shoreline.

🌊 Help us keep it safe and peaceful: Join us at the July 23 City Commission meeting to share your feedback on the proposed ordinance. The meeting begins at 6:00PM at Dunedin City Hall.

🚨 🚨‼️ ‼️ The jet ski riders plan on showing up in large numbers for the City of Dunedin commission meeting this Thursday, tonight - so that means ALL of us environmentalists and people who care about the seagrasses, seabird life, and keeping the Dunedin Causeway from ridiculous crowds, obnoxiously loud jet skis, seagrass destruction - which means fish nursery destruction, seahorse destruction, and everything that lives in the seagrass destruction - we have got to show up in numbers just as large, so get your butt to the city commission meeting this Thursday no matter what to speak up in support of the City of Dunedin permanently banning jet skis from launching at Dunedin Causeway!!! We cannot let the jet skis come back to the previous launching area on the south side of the Causeway. They leave behind piles of trash, they operate recklessly, endanger people on paddle boards, collide with swimmers in the water, they constantly go into the motor exclusion zones (do not care about the motor exclusion buoys that are very visible), and they do not follow the boating/marine rules. They are extremely obnoxious - not all of them, obviously, but the majority. It has been two years of peace and quiet, restoration of sea grasses in the previous launching area, which means increase in fish, seahorses, crabs, bird life, etc., with them gone, and we do not want them back. This meeting is extremely important!!! 🚨🚨‼️ ‼️If you can't attend in person, please submit your comments in an email to the commission at [email protected]. Thank you!
