Join us for “The Plot Thickens” book club, where we delve into compelling stories that captivate and challenge. Each month, we’ll explore a new book that promises rich narratives and complex characters.

This month we’re reading:
Tress of the Emerald Sea (Fantasy)

A huge thank you to everyone who participated! Over 200 incredible pieces of Tiny Art were created by patrons across the county, and more than 150 of you voted for your favorites!

🥳 Art Pick-Up Info:
🧑‍🎨 If your artwork isn’t on tour, pick-up begins Monday, May 18.
🏆 If your piece is part of the tour, pick-up begins Tuesday, June 2.
📆 All art must be picked up by Tuesday, June 16. Please contact your home library for pick-up details.

All Harnett County Public Libraries will be closed on Saturday, May 23 and Monday, May 25 for the holiday. We’ll resume regular hours on Tuesday, May 26.

This closure includes the Main Library in Lillington and branches in Angier, Benhaven, Coats, Dunn, Erwin, Anderson Creek, and Boone Trail.

The Force was strong at the library this week! 🌟

We had a special visit from Darth Vader himself, who led our brave patrons through epic battle stances, dual lightsaber techniques, and even some friendly duels. The room was filled with excitement as future Jedi (and a few loyal to the Empire 😉) tested their skills.

Our young Padawans refueled with delicious Star Wars–themed treats like Wookiee Cookies, refreshing Yoda Punch, and crunchy Vanilla Lightsaber Pretzels.

Creativity was in full swing as patrons built their very own “mini empires,” crafting characters and finger puppets with cutting, coloring, and gluing activities. And of course, everyone put their Jedi Mind Tricks to the test by solving mazes, word puzzles, and hilarious MadLibs.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this out-of-this-world adventure. May the Force be with you… until our next event! ✨

Love comics? Live for manga? Come hang out with other teens who get it at Panels and Pages, a graphic novel and manga book club.

Each month we’ll dive into a new graphic novel or manga. We’ll talk about the art, the stories, and your favorite characters. Bring your opinions and creativity, and we’ll supply the snacks!

Charlie, a highly-strung, openly gay over-thinker, and Nick, a cheerful, soft-hearted rugby player, meet at a British all-boys grammar school. Friendship blooms quickly, but could there be something more...?

Charlie Spring is in Year 10 at Truham Grammar School for Boys. The past year hasn't been too great, but at least he's not being bullied anymore. Nick Nelson is in Year 11 and on the school rugby team. He's heard a little about Charlie - the kid who was outed last year and bullied for a few months - but he's never had the opportunity to talk to him.

They quickly become friends, and soon Charlie is falling hard for Nick, even though he doesn't think he has a chance. But love works in surprising ways, and sometimes good things are waiting just around the corner...

Come admire the incredible talent and creativity on display.
