You know why?

Welcome back!! Here are a few pictures from yesterday’s event. We were unable to obtain any from Dunn Middle as it was delivered after the staff had left for the day. We did not get a huge turn out but the few things delivered were appreciated.

Members of the Dunn Police Department, along with our School Resource Officers, endured yesterday’s 108-degree heat index for a great cause—supporting the teachers and students in our community!

We would like to sincerely thank everyone who stopped by, donated supplies, and helped us “Stuff the Cruiser” – Teacher Edition.

A special thank you goes to our local Walmart for once again welcoming us and providing a location to host this event.

Earlier donations from this initiative were delivered to Dunn Elementary School, and the supplies collected yesterday were donated to Dunn Middle School and Leaf of Faith Academy – Dunn.

As classrooms fill back up today, we want to wish all of our teachers, faculty, students, and families a fantastic first day of school! 🍎 📖

On Monday, August 10, 2026, Keason Kindela Stocks was taken into custody by the High Point Police Department. Dunn Police Department investigators responded to High Point and took custody of Mr. Stocks for the murder of Jarvis Elliott and Travis Williams that occurred on August 2, 2026, at the 601 Bar located in Dunn.
The investigation remains active. Mr. Stocks was charged with TWO COUNTS OF FIRST-DEGREE MURDER AND POSSESSION OF A FIREARM BY A CONVICTED FELON. Mr.
Stocks is being held at the Harnett County Jail with no bond. The Dunn Police Department would like to thank all assisting agencies.

This individual is WANTED and should be considered a person of interest in this active criminal investigation.

Dunn Police Department Seizes Co***ne and Methamphetamine; Dunn Man Arrested

The Dunn Police Department Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Unit, working in partnership with the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections, conducted a joint operation on July 8, 2026, that resulted in the seizure of 88 grams of co***ne and 18 grams of methamphetamine.

As a result of the operation, Sha’King Warren, of 303 E. Bay Street, Dunn, North Carolina, was arrested on scene.

Warren has been charged with the following offenses:

Felony Possession of Methamphetamine
Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell/Deliver Methamphetamine
Trafficking in Co***ne
Felony Possession of Co***ne
Felony Maintaining a Dwelling for the Sale of Controlled Substances
Felony Conspiracy
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Following his arrest, Warren was transported to the Harnett County Detention Center, where he was placed under a $1,000,000 secure bond pending his first appearance in court.

Dunn Police Chief Lynn Gay praised the work of investigators and emphasized the department’s commitment to aggressive drug enforcement.

“Drug dealers who choose to poison our neighborhoods and profit from addiction should understand one thing — the Dunn Police Department is coming for them. We will continue to target those who traffic in co***ne, methamphetamine, and other dangerous narcotics, and we will use every lawful resource available to remove them from our community. This arrest and seizure are another example of our commitment to protecting the people of Dunn and holding drug traffickers accountable.”

The Dunn Police Department thanks the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections for its assistance and partnership in this investigation.
