Although we received some rain, it has not been enough to reduce the dry conditions that cause an ongoing wildfire risk. The NC Forest Service and Harnett County Fire Marshal will continue with the burn ban until further notice.

🚫πŸ”₯ BURN BAN IN EFFECT – HARNETT COUNTY πŸ”₯🚫

***Even though it’s rained a tiny little bit***

Due to increased wildfire risk and extremely dry conditions, a burn ban is now in effect across Harnett County and the entire state of North Carolina starting 6:00 PM on Saturday, March 28th until FURTHER NOTICE.

Here’s what you need to know:

πŸ”Ή Harnett County Fire Marshal Ban:
Applies to all burning within 100 feet of a residence

πŸ”Ή N.C. Forest Service Ban:
Applies to all burning more than 100 feet from a residence

πŸ‘‰ Bottom line: ALL open burning is prohibited statewide β€” even if you already had a permit. No new permits will be issued until the ban is lifted.

πŸ’¬ Fire Marshal Rodney Daniels stated this ban is necessary due to the lack of rain and dry conditions, which significantly increase the risk of wildfires.

⚠️ Penalties for violating the burn ban:
β€’ $100 fine + $183 court costs
β€’ You may be held financially responsible for fire suppression costs if a fire is started

πŸš“ Local fire departments and law enforcement are actively assisting with enforcement.

πŸ“ž If you have questions, contact your local Fire Marshal’s Office or N.C. Forest Service ranger.

πŸ™ Please help keep our community safe β€” no burning until further notice.

πŸš‘ Fleet Update from Dunn Emergency Services πŸš‘

We’d like to welcome our two newest ambulances to the fleet β€” 1555 and 1557! Both units have successfully passed OEMS inspection and are now officially in service, ready to respond when our community calls.

These ambulances are also equipped with the new Whelen V2V Sync lighting system. We are one of the few agencies across the eastern part of the state to have this technology installed.

So what is V2V Sync ?
It means when multiple emergency vehicles respond to the same scene, their warning lights β€œtalk” to each other and flash in a coordinated pattern instead of randomly. This makes the lights easier for drivers to see and understand, helping improve safety for responders and the public on roadways.

We also added a new ride for the Deputy Chief β€” 1567 πŸ‘€
(For those who didn’t know… yes, he was in a wreck and totaled his last truck πŸ˜…. Don’t worry, he’s okay and back)

Congrats to Tyler Chavis on his accomplishment!
