Dear friends, this is Capt Dave, administrator of this page. I am so sorry and apologize for failing to work on the page or on the river for these last 3 months. It started with back problems and on June 6 I had I finally succumbed to surgery to get me back to normal. The surgery was a success but I lost 14 pints of blood on the table. From there it got worse. Many more issues popped up that had been wrong in my body for years. I'm finally in rehab and just started working back to walking. Hope you all will forgive me and know I'll start back with posts as soon as I'm back on the boat. Thanks for all the prayers!

Going in to Seven Rivers Regional Hospital Crystal River FL @ 5:45 AM. Having four discs in lower back removed and replaced. They have been killing me for months. I'll be in there for three days if all goes well. Capt Randy Lewis has been and will be taking all my dive boat runs for 5 weeks or so. I've been putting off my surgery until I was eligible for Medicare because Obama Care would have left me owing a bucket load of cash. Looking forward to relief. Please pray for a speedy recovery. I am so looking forward to my second year of providing people with memories of their fun times on the Rainbow River. I plan to try and incorporate a "Facebook Live" periodically. If you will be on the river Memorial Day weekend, give me a shout out!

My name is Captain Dave Johnson. I drive a shuttle boat from the K P Hole to the headwaters of Rainbow Springs for divers, snorkelers and floaters. If you go to the KP and pay the entry fee of 5 bucks (young kids are free) I will pickup your group and carry you up to the edge of Rainbow Springs and drop you off. I usually get $10 per head but give discounts for families especially with kids. From there you will float back to the KP and that takes plus or minus 2 hours. As opposed to your other options, you will be floating the cleanest, clearest waters of the Rainbow River. You will also pass over all the boils and springs that the divers from all over the world come to see. Bring snorkel and mask to get the most of your trip.
