That's the excuse a driver gave our officers after being clocked at 124 mph on I-285 last night.

We all have bad days. But driving at triple-digit speeds puts everyone on the road at risk and can turn a frustrating day into a fatal one.

Our priority is simple: making sure everyone gets home safely. Speeding at 124 mph won't solve your problems. It will only earn you a ride to jail, where your day is likely to get even worse.

Thank you, Austin Elementary for inviting our officers to read to your students this morning and for the thoughtful thank you letters! They truly made our day!

Incident: Death Notification – K9 Ranger

Date: October 15, 2026

Location: 4800 Ashford Dunwoody Rd Dunwoody, GA 30338

The Dunwoody Police Department is saddened to share that Ranger, one of the department’s K-9s, has died.

As part of a planned transition to introduce Ranger to a new handler, he was boarded at an out-of-state training facility to continue his training. While there, Ranger escaped the facility. He was later found deceased near the facility by local animal control officers.

Ranger was one of the department’s first K-9s and was a valued member of the Dunwoody Police Department. Our thoughts are with the officers and staff who worked alongside and cared for him.

Over the weekend, Sgt. Bradley and Officer Davis hit the streets on bike patrol throughout the City of Dunwoody! 🚴‍♂️

Bike patrol gives our officers a different perspective and allows them to be proactive in ways they can’t always be while in their patrol vehicles. From connecting with the community to keeping an eye out for potential issues, our bike team is another great way we work to keep Dunwoody safe!

This gorgeous baby was found tied to a sign near Independence Square in Dunwoody this morning. 💔

He is a very good boy, and he doesn’t have a microchip. We would love to help reunite him with his family! ❤️🐶
