There is a council meeting scheduled for today. The last two meetings were canceled due to a lack of quorum. Council President Reeves, Vice President Kelley, and myself will be there tonight but if another council member fails to show up, this will be yet another meeting canceled due to a lack or quorum. The good news is that two new council members will be seated in January. Agenda items that are are priority include creating an in-house code enforcement agency, creating an art committee, a resolution on slum and blighted properties, passing a 2026 budget, and voting to demolish some of the over a dozen properties we have slated for demo.

This year council President Reeves, Vice President Kelley, and myself did as much as we could with the resources and support available to us. This included planting trees in the Civic Plaza, giving away Easter hams, giving away water and meals during the April storms, participating in community clean up day, coordinating more clean up days with local organizations, and getting together all the things needed for the Blight Report and the STAMP Grant.

I am so excited to see what 2026 brings and am optimistic that this includes engaged and diverse voices participating on council. Thank you for your patience this year and especially these last three meetings.
