💚 June is PTSD Awareness Month. 💚

Many individuals in our community are living with the effects of trauma—and healing takes support, understanding, and time.

Let’s continue building a community where people feel safe asking for help.

If you or someone you know needs support, you are not alone. Contact our office at 715-672-8941, or for urgent after-hours assistance, you can connect with resources by calling our dispatch office at 715-672-5944. There is also immediate, confidential support available by calling or texting 988, the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.

What is CIP, you ask?

Crisis Intervention Partners (CIP) is a community-based training program designed to strengthen how we respond to individuals experiencing mental health crises, trauma, substance use challenges, and other difficult situations.

While Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training focuses primarily on law enforcement and human services, CIP expands that collaboration by bringing together community partners, including EMS, fire departments, schools, healthcare providers, church groups, dispatchers, and others who commonly encounter individuals in crisis.

This August, Pepin County will begin offering CIP training as part of our continued commitment to improving communication, collaboration, safety, and support for individuals and families in our community.

By working together, we can build a stronger and more compassionate response system for everyone in Pepin County.

Pepin County Human Services and the Pepin County Sheriff's Office are excited to announce that we have received grant funding to bring Crisis Intervention Partners (CIP) training to Pepin County!

Following our successful collaboration with Buffalo County to bring CIT training to our area in 2025, we are excited to continue fostering partnerships, enhancing education, and empowering community response efforts for mental health in Pepin County.

Stay tuned for more information about CIP and discover how you can play a vital role in supporting those affected by a mental health crisis.

We are excited to be in the planning stages of bringing CIP to our community this August, igniting new possibilities and opportunities for everyone.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and in continuing to educate on this subject, we know that parents and caregivers are often the first to notice when something feels different. Changes in mood, sleep, appetite or behavior may signal a young person needs support.
