Our zoning staff want rural residents with septic systems to know that pumping notices will be arriving in mailboxes shortly - pumping and maintenance of septic systems is important to ensure the proper functioning of your system and prevents problems down the road.

Yes - you can still have your septic system pumped even if you don't receive a letter if you think it needs to be done.

If you have any questions about the septic maintenance program, call the zoning office and staff will try to assist with your inquiry.

It looks like Mother Nature wants to make sure we practice our emergency plans this week - we are starting Severe Weather Awareness Week off with an enhanced risk level for thunderstorms with large hail, strong winds and potential tornados this afternoon.

One of the most important things to understand when it comes to any type of severe weather is the difference being a watch and a warning!

Watches mean that the type of severe weather is possible and that you should take steps to prepare for that type of weather!

Warnings mean that the severe weather is happening and that you should take protective actions immediately!

In the event of a tornado warning, you may only have minutes or seconds to find a safe place to shelter so it is important to know where you need to go to shelter whether you are at home, work, school, or out and about in the community.
