The mission of Durand Police Department is to enhance the quality of life for all citizens within Durand by providing quality law enforcement services that emphasize fairness to all parties without regard to race, religion, s*x, or perceived standing within the community. We will accomplish our mission through equitable enforcement of the laws of Durand and State of Wisconsin within the framework

of the Constitution of the United States of America. This page was created to provide people who live and work in the City of Durand, or others with an interest in the Durand Police Department, access to information about the Durand Police Department and a platform with which to interact with the department. This page is monitored and managed by the Chief and Officers of the department. The Durand Police Department manages this page as a limited public forum and therefore the following conditions apply.

Public Safety Career Days are fast approaching. Have you signed up yet? Please sign up by July 1st to attend. Students have the option to attend one or both days! Visit our website, www.durandwipolice.com, under “Get Involved”. Our Career Days will allow you to see how area law enforcement, firefighters, and EMTs work daily. Students going into grades 6th through 12th grade and recent graduates are encouraged to attend. Jobs in these fields are always in demand and offer a rewarding career while helping others. Today marks Bike Safety Day at Caddie Woodlawn Elementary. Please be advised that Officer Brandon and I will be conducting a safety demonstration on Auth St with squad lights activated. As part of the program, Officer Brandon delivers classroom presentations on bike safety, followed by practical exercises on the street under our supervision.

With today being Bike to Work Day, we wanted to remind parents of 2nd and 3rd-grade students at Caddie Woodlawn Elementary that we will have our bike rodeo event on Friday! See the flyer below for more information. Helmets are preferred but not required for participation. Please avoid dropping off/ picking up bikes during bus drop-off and pick-up times to limit parking lot congestion. If the weather is poor, we will make a Facebook post on Thursday in the event of rescheduling.

The Durand Police Department, along with the Durand Fire Department, Durand EMS, and the Pepin County Sheriff’s Office, is excited to announce Public Safety Career Days for area students (6th through 12th grade; recent graduates are also welcome). On July 13th, from 9 am to 3 pm, join area Law Enforcement in hands-on experiences to learn about a career in law enforcement. On July 20th, from 9 am to 3 pm, join Durand EMS and Fire Departments for hands-on skills used by our firefighters and EMTs. Lunch will be provided. You will have the opportunity to sign up for one or both days. Sign-up is open on our website www.durandwipolice.com under “Get Involved”. Thank you for the wonderful donation. We are sharing our bags with Durand Municipal Ambulance Service. This is a great bag of goodies to give to our youth when we have interactions with them.

Please join us on Wednesday, March 25th, at approximately 6pm, as we send off the Durand youth wrestlers who qualified for the STATE Tournament!!!! The Durand Fire Department, Durand Municipal Ambulance, Durand WI Police Department, and the Pepin County Sheriff's Office will es**rt the team through the city.

The es**rt will follow this route:
* Departing from the school south on Prospect Street
* Turning right onto 4th Avenue West
* Turning right onto Main Street
* Turning right onto 2nd Avenue East
* Turning left onto Prospect Street back to the high school

We encourage you to come out, cheer, and show support for our youth wrestlers as they pass by!

SNOW EMERGENCY UPDATE FOR DOWNTOWN AND RESIDENTIAL PARKING.

The City of Durand is still under a snow emergency. Parking is prohibited on any Residential Streets or alleys until the snowfall has ended and they have been plowed from curb to curb for the entire block. The Public Works Crew will continue their snow removal operation through this afternoon, 3/15/2026.

The City of Durand will be conducting snow removal operations at 2 A.M. in the downtown district on Monday, March 16th, 2026.

In the downtown district, vehicles cannot be parked on the streets listed below between 2 A.M. and 6 A.M.;

River Street: From 4th Avenue West to 1st Avenue
Main Street: From Hwy 10 stoplights to 5th Avenue W
Madison Street: From 7th Avenue West to 2nd Avenue East
Wells Street: From 4th Avenue West to 2nd Avenue West
1st Avenue: From River Street to Madison Street
2nd Avenue West: From River Street to Wells Street
3rd Avenue West: From Main Street to Wells Street
4th Avenue West: From River Street to Wells Street
5th Avenue West: From Main Street to Madison Street

Vehicles in violation of the Downtown snow removal ordinance will be cited and towed.

Parking is allowed at the River St. boat landing and at Memorial Park. Thank you for your cooperation with our plowing operations.
