You may disagree with another person's ideas or opinions but please keep the comments respectful and family friendly. Continued personal attacks will result in the user being blocked from using the system. A Comment is Conversation: A comment which does not add to the conversation, is not relevant to the conversation and runs off on tangents or kills the conversation may be edited or deleted. We will notify users if they violate this policy on the first offense. If the commenter continues to violate this policy, we reserve the rights to block them. Comment Spam: Most comment spam will be automatically rejected by our system. Any spam that gets through will be marked and deleted. The users of the system may also flag a comment as being spam or inappropriate. These comments will be reviewed and deleted as needed. Continued comment spamming will result in the user being blocked from using the system. Noncommercial: Comments may not solicit or promote any business. The comments are to be used for noncommercial purposes only. Hold Harmless: All comments on this site are the responsibility of the commenter, not the school district, administrators, contributors, editors, or authors. By submitting a comment on our site, you agree that the comment content is your own, and to hold this site, durangoschools.org, and all entities and representatives harmless from any and all repercussions, damages, or liability. Blocking of Commenters: Anyone who violates this Comments Policy may be blocked from commenting or accessing the site at the discretion of the district. All Rights Reserved: Durango School District 9-R reserves the right to edit, delete, or mark as spam any and all comments. Join us *today* from 3-4 p.m. for a Ribbon-Cutting & Open House for the Durango School District Administration Office. The event will be held in Bodo Industrial Park on May 31 from 3 to 4 p.m. at 281 Sawyer Drive, Suite 100. The event will include light refreshments, self-guided tours through the maze of hallways and a scavenger hunt with a drawing for prizes.

The community is invited to a Ribbon-Cutting & Open House for the Durango School District Administration Office. The event will be held in Bodo Industrial Park on May 31 from 3 to 4 p.m. at 281 Sawyer Drive, Suite 100. The event will include light refreshments, self-guided tours through the maze of hallways and a scavenger hunt with a drawing for prizes. The administrative staff moved out of the historic old high school at 201 E. 12th Street in mid-April, and the old building will officially be handed over to the City of Durango on June 1.

We encourage everyone in La Plata County – district staff, families, community members – to participate in an important survey regarding public education programs, policies, and a potential ballot measure this November 2024. Ready for the "stoke factor"? You get to see it up close tonight as we celebrate the public Grand Opening of the Impact Career Innovation Center at the Durango High School campus. The event begins outside the building at 5:30 p.m. (dress warmly) with an Indigenous blessing, speakers, and ribbon-cutting. The following is an emergency message from Durango School District 9-R for all parents, students and staff. Due to continued hazardous road conditions, all schools will be closed today, Monday January 8th. This decision was made in collaboration with emergency management. This includes all bus routes, school-related events and activities.
