Attention Coloradans and visitors: It is toxic algae season. Be algae aware. ⚠️

If you are at your favorite lake or pond, and you notice a layer of algae that looks like thick pea soup, or staining on the surface that looks like spilled paint, stay away from the water.

Toxic algae can make you sick and be harmful, or even fatal, to pets.

Remember: when in doubt, stay out of the water!
