The City Clerk's Office just recycled 60 boxes of paperwork after successfully digitizing every document into our OnBase system. This transition not only frees up valuable physical space but also makes searching for city records faster and more accessible than ever. A huge thank you to our dedicated records team for their hard work and continued commitment to modernizing our city's archives.

The City of Durango Streets Division will host a Free Mulch Giveaway on Friday, June 5, and Saturday, June 6, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the old Vandal Landfill site located in the Durango Tech Center area.

The mulch is produced from brown waste collected during the city’s spring and fall cleanup programs. Supplies are first-come, first-served and will be available while quantities last.

Residents are asked to bring their own trucks, trailers, containers, and tarps. Loading assistance will be available; however, self‑loading is encouraged to help keep traffic flowing smoothly.

For additional information, please contact the City of Durango Streets Division at 970-375-4800.

Roundabouts are fantastic for keeping traffic moving, but they only work efficiently when we all play by the same rules. Lately, it seems a few of us are treating them more like racetrack turns than traffic circles. Be sure to slow down and use caution as you enter and exit the roundabout.

As part of the Citywide On-Call Concrete Construction Program, crews are repairing and reconstructing sidewalks and installing ADA-compliant curb ramps at various locations throughout the city. Work is currently underway on the east side of 2nd Avenue. Construction is expected to continue for approximately 8–9 weeks. Temporary parking impacts are expected in work areas. Access to businesses and residences will remain open throughout the construction. Construction is paid for by the 2019 Sales Tax Fund.
