🎉 Today, we celebrated the opening of the new Durant Community Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony alongside tribal members, community leaders, Tribal Council members, and Choctaw Nation leadership.

Built to serve our growing community, the new facility provides expanded space for programs, services, cultural activities, wellness initiatives, and community events. It will serve as a place where Choctaw families of all ages can gather, learn, connect, and grow together.

This investment reflects the Choctaw Nation's continued commitment to strengthening our communities and supporting future generations.

This afternoon, the Choctaw Nation hosted a special screening of “Powwow People” at Choctaw Casino & Resort–Durant!

This powerful documentary by Indigenous filmmaker Sky Hopinka gave viewers an inside look at the vibrant world of Native powwows—highlighting the people, traditions, and connections that make these gatherings so meaningful.

From dancers and singers to community voices across generations, the film beautifully captured the energy, culture, and shared experiences that keep these traditions strong.
