**IMPORTANT NOTICE: MANDATORY WATER RESTRICTIONS**

**Effective: AUGUST 21, 2026**

Due to severe drought conditions and high demand on the water system, Bryan County Rural Water District #5 is implementing **mandatory water restrictions** for all residential and commercial customers.

**Lawn irrigation and automated sprinkler systems are strictly prohibited until further notice.**

Your cooperation is vital to maintaining an adequate water supply for essential human needs and .

**Violations will be subject to the following enforcement:**

* **First offense:** Reminder notice
* **Second offense:** $100.00 fine/residential $1,000.00 fine/commercial
* **Third and subsequent offenses:** $250.00 fine/residential $2,500.00/commercial per occurrence

💧 Please Use Water Wisely 💧

With temperatures reaching 100°F and above, we are asking all customers to use water carefully and avoid unnecessary waste.

We are not currently under water restrictions, but continued high demand and extreme heat could make restrictions necessary in the future.

Please help protect our water supply by limiting unnecessary outdoor watering, repairing leaks, and conserving water whenever possible.

NOTICE TO RWD #5 CUSTOMERS

Outside watering restrictions are not mandatory at this time. However, we are asking customers to voluntarily limit outside watering to help reduce demand and minimize the impact on our water system.

Please avoid unnecessary lawn watering and postpone other nonessential outdoor water use when possible. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation as we continue working to provide reliable water service to all customers.

RWD #5 CUSTOMERS — WE NEED YOUR HELP! 💧

We are currently searching for a possible water leak in the Albany area and east of Albany. The leak may be located in a pasture, creek, heavily wooded area, or another place that is difficult to see from the road.

Please watch for unusually wet or muddy areas, standing or running water, washed-out ground, or water flowing where it normally would not be.

If you notice anything suspicious, please contact Bryan County Rural Water District #5 as soon as possible. Please share this post to help us spread the word!

RWD 5 customers East of Durant may experience little to no water this evening, July 17, 2026. RWD5 crews are working with the City of Durant to repair a main break that could impact RWD 5 customers. Our crew will remain on site with the City until the repairs are made. Thank you for your patience!

Customers East of Durant may experience low water pressure and or possibly no water this evening. City of Durant has a water main break that will impact RWD5 customers. Crews are working diligently to make the necessary repairs. Thank you for your patience.

Line Repair - Beginning July 1, 2026 at approx 9:00am. Customers in the Platter/Cartwright area may experience little to no water while our crews repair water main. We are expecting a couple hours for the repairs. Thank you for your patience!

Repairs have been completed!! We would like to thank everyone for your patience today!

Please be prepared for water outages throughout the Cartwright area today. Crews will work diligently to get repairs completed as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience!

We need your help again!!! We are looking for a water leak and so far are unable to locate it. The area we are looking is between Durant and Bokchito possibly along Hwy 70 or surrounding areas. Please let us know if you see anything that looks suspicious. As many of you know many of our water lines run through pastures, woods and creeks making leaks hard to locate that is why we asking for your help. Please share with your family and friends.
