Memorial Day isn’t about convenience or perfect weather. It’s about honoring the men and women who gave everything for our country. Despite the weather, we are so proud that Durham showed up to honor the fallen.

Shoutout to our First Selectman Brendan Rea and Selectman Rob Chadd, both proud military veterans, for leading the parade decked out in colonial attire for America’s upcoming 250th anniversary.

Days like today remind us who we are as a community and why these traditions matter!

Today is the Regional School District 13 budget referendum. 🗳️

Voters in Durham and Middlefield will decide whether to approve the proposed $44,456,570 budget for the 2026-2027 fiscal year.

The ballot question reads:

“SHALL THE PROPOSED BUDGET OF $44,456,570 FOR THE 2026-2027 FISCAL YEAR AS PREPARED AND PRESENTED BY THE REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT 13 BOARD OF EDUCATION BE APPROVED?”

As Durham Republicans, we believe local government works best when citizens are informed, engaged, and willing to show up.

It was a great morning in Madison for Maryanne Connelly’s announcement of her run for State Representative in the 101st District! Durham and Madison are ready to end one party rule in Hartford!

We were also excited to meet the Madison RTC Chair and start building a strong working relationship between our towns. And thank you to Durham RTC Alternate James Meyer for providing the flags! 🇺🇸

The Durham Republican Town Committee will hold its April monthly meeting tonight, Thursday, April 16, at 7:00 PM on the third floor of Durham Town Hall.

Our newly elected RTC Chairman Kyle Mosher met with our officers this week to get organized and start laying out a clear path forward for the Durham Republican Town Committee.
