As a young leader, we hope you will use these resources to get involved with the campaign, discuss the issues that are important to you, and help build this movement for 2012. In 2008, young people came together to organize and lead a movement for change that helped Barack Obama win a historic election. We need to grow faster and fight harder to protect the progress we’ve made and continue to work

for more. Young activists will lead the grassroots effort across the country to build this campaign for 2012 from the ground up. Students for Barack Obama is the official student wing of the Obama for America campaign. We're a national organization of high school, college, graduate, and law students united by a common mission—to change American politics by helping to elect Barack Obama President of the United States. Founded in the summer of 2006, Students for Barack Obama began as an online petition to encourage Senator Obama to run for President in 2008. Since then, the student movement has evolved offline into the official student organization of Obama for America with over seven hundred chapters at schools across the country. We're organizing students to register voters, get out the vote, raise funds, and spread Barack Obama's message of hope, action, change.
