Partnership for a Healthy Durham We are a community coalition that aims to improve health in Durham County. There are currently 230 active members in the Partnership.

The Partnership for a Healthy Durham is a coalition of local organizations and community members, with the goal of collaboratively improving the physical, mental, and social health and well-being of Durham's residents. The Partnership has seven committees that each focus on a Durham County health priority and are led by our Steering committee. We need YOU! Because Move-A-Bull City doesn't happen without volunteers.

On October 4, we're closing 1.2 miles of downtown Durham to cars and opening the streets to people, from the Ellerbee to the ATT. Making that happen takes a crew, and that's where you come in.

Volunteers are the reason the streets stay safe, the activities run, and the thousands of neighbors get to walk, bike, and roll through a car-free downtown. Whether you can give a couple of hours or the whole afternoon, there's a spot for you.

Durham Parks and Recreation Cornwallis Rd. Park (2830 Wade Rd.) got a bit of a makeover yesterday 🛝🖌️ The playground area, and some spots along the walking path, now have a few additional games for children, like hopscotch, 🎉🏃🏾‍♀️‍➡️, more color, and there are now fitness circuit prompts near the exercise equipment! We hope you get outside and active today!!

Today, a few of our partners went out to Durham Parks and Recreation Merrick-Moore Park (632 N Hoover Rd) to add some color and more opportunities for kids to play! 🏃🏾 🛝We even had the help of some UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health students 🐏💪🏾 Take a look at just a few of the new activities around the pavilion ⬇️ There are even more around the playing fields.

After experiencing record-high levels of West Nile virus (WNV) in Durham this year, we will conduct the final round of targeted ultra-low volume mosquito spraying, as recommended by the NC Department of Health and Human Services, next week, October 15-16 (dates may change depending on weather).
