UNH T2 Center LTAP

UNH T2 Center LTAP UNH T2 supports New Hampshire highway and public works teams with practical training, customized technical assistance, and resources.

As the stateโ€™s dedicated LTAP center, we help strengthen and maintain local roads. We're funded through NHDOT and FHWA. The New Hampshire Local Technical Assistance Program provides training and services concerning the technology and management of roads and bridges to municipal highway department officials. Our aim is to foster an understanding that continued training is important for municipal highway department employees.

Great turnout in Bedford, NH yesterday for our Pavement Marking & Sign Technology workshop!

Participants joined Mike Allen from 3M and Eric Healey from NH Department of Transportation for an in-depth look at pavement marking and signsโ€”from retroreflectivity and durability to MUTCD standards and inspection best practices.

The equipment demos and sign shop tour made for a valuable, real-world learning experience. Thanks to everyone who attended and thanks to Bedford DPW for hosting!

The plows may have just come off the trucks here in New Hampshire, but the heat is already making an appearance. As temperatures climb over the next couple of days, we wanted to share this important heat safety reminder for everyone working outdoors. Stay hydrated, take breaks, look out for one another, and remember heat-related illness can happen faster than you think!

Rooted in Service, Powered by Community

This National Public Works Week, we recognize the dedicated public works professionals whose work forms the foundation of thriving communities. Whether itโ€™s maintaining roads and bridges, supporting water and sewer systems, or keeping essential services running behind the scenes, public works powers the connection between service and the people it supports.

Some of this work is highly visible, while much of it happens quietly in the background, but all of it matters. Thank you to all the dedicated public works professionals serving New Hampshire and communities across the country.

This week took us criss-crossing across the state, meeting up with so many of our incredible public works professionals along the way! UNH T2 staff visited Antrim, Gilsum, Sunapee, Sandwich, Concord, and Lancaster for everything from field math to gravel roads and heavy equipment training, as well as attending the NHDOT Plow Rally and NHPWA annual meeting. We had a great week, and hope you did too! Now enjoy a restful, safe weekend with warmer, drier temps ahead.

We look forward to celebrating with you all next week!
