Central Pines Regional Council celebrated the launch of Electrify the Triangle on October 9, welcoming a great turnout of local leaders, community partners, and contractors. The event offered an opportunity to learn about the program, make connections, and discuss how regional collaboration can help residents access energy-efficient home improvements.

Electrify the Triangle helps residents understand their options, identify available incentives, and connect with participating contractors. By helping residents navigate these improvements, the program aims to lower household energy costs, improve home comfort, and support community energy goals. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the launch a success!

Tomorrow, October 10, is World Mental Health Day. So let's check in with ourselves today. Local government work means showing up for our communities, even on the hard days. Here are three small things that can help:

1. Set a hard stop. Close your laptop and silence work notifications after hours. All that can wait.
2. Take a REAL lunch break. Even 15 minutes away from your desk matters.
3. Talk to someone. Lean on a trusted coworker, friend, or take advantage of your EAP.

If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 (Su***de & Crisis Lifeline) anytime.

To everyone serving their communities, your wellbeing matters too. 💚

Recently, our Strategy & Innovation Group partnered with the Beeck Center for Social Impact + Innovation at Georgetown University to host a workshop on the use of artificial intelligence in local government.

With more than 100 attendees, the workshop provided a valuable opportunity for local government professionals from across the region to learn, connect, and exchange ideas about this rapidly evolving issue. Participants explored practical applications of AI while developing a better understanding of its potential benefits, limitations, and risks.

Thank you to the Beeck Center and everyone who joined us for such a thoughtful and engaging conversation!

Back before Waze or Google Maps, Central Pines Regional Council (then Triangle J Council of Governments) would print a map of the region. You know, the kind it takes forever to re-fold. If you needed to get around the Triangle, you could use the Triangle Metro Map. This is the 1999 Millennium Edition, which you can find in our Pines Preserves Library at the CPRC office. Come by and check it out!
