Greetings from the Town Clerk’s Office! My name is Amy Kotwica and I am proud to serve Verona as your elected Town Clerk for the 2022-2024 term. The Town Clerk’s Office acts as an information and resource center for all residents and visitors to the Town. It is also a hub for which town business revolves. As Secretary to the Town Board, I am responsible for preparing and maintaining the minutes of
Town Board meetings. We provide Dog Licenses and Renewals, offer Notary services (free to residents), issue Disabled parking permits, and have access to Genealogy searches. As the Registrar of Vital Statistics, we issue state marriage licenses and manage the town birth and death certificates. I am also the Town and County Tax Collecting Officer. The Tax Office is responsible for the collection of property taxes for approximately 3,500 parcels. All powers and duties of this office, as well as collection procedures, are statutory and defined in the New York State Real Property Tax Law. We welcome any inquires pertaining to collection policies as well as general tax information. We offer our assistance to residents, realtors, lending institutions, title companies, and other entities that may require tax information. The tax roll is available for public inspections upon request. The Town Clerk is also the Records Management Officer. The RMO is the custodian of all records and responsible for active files, disposition of inactive records, and protection of the archives. I and your Deputy Clerk, Sovann Suos, are happy to assist everyone with their needs in relation to town government and community happenings. We look forward to greeting you at the Town Clerk’s Office during our regular business hours.
