The members of Germania Hose Co send our condolences and prayers to our brothers and sisters of Excelsior Hose Co on their loss of longtime member George Selden.

George V. Selden, 94, of Duryea, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. Last evening members of Excelsior 226 and Germania 126 paid their respect and final goodbye to Preston Oleski
We couldn’t think of a better way to send you off than to do a memorial parade with two things that you loved most, firefighting and racing. This was a tribute to the memories we shared, the laughter we enjoyed, and the kindness and friendship that will remain with us. Your spirit will live on in every memory, every story, and with everyone who knew you.
RIP in peace brother, keep a watch over us all.

Germania 126 members are mourning the loss of a fellow Duryea and Excelsior 226 firefighter, Preston Oleski. The loss of one of our own is a pain that words cannot fully express.
We stand together with Excelsior 226, his family, friends and everyone who had the privilege of serving alongside him. Preston’s courage, dedication, and commitment to protecting others will never be forgotten.
Rest easy, brother. We’ll take it from here.

Fireworks Update

After speaking with our fireworks vendor and carefully considering the current conditions, we have made the difficult decision to cancel tonight's fireworks display.

We know many of you were looking forward to the show, and we sincerely apologize for any disappointment or inconvenience this may cause.

We appreciate your understanding and, as always, thank you for your continued support of the Germania Hose Company. We hope you'll still join us at the bazaar and help us close out another great year!
