• Never pass a stopped school bus – If the lights are flashing and the stop arm is out, students are loading or unloading.

• Review safety rules with kids – Whether they walk, bike, or ride the bus, a quick refresher helps everyone stay safe.

Big thank you to Monroe/Sky Valley Family YMCA for inviting us out for lunch with the campers today! We had such a blast hanging out with the kids—they had the best questions, and we loved every minute of chatting with them. The Mayor Amy McHenry and Deputy Mayor joined in too, making it even more special. Thanks to the camp staff and all the awesome campers for the warm welcome and a super fun afternoon!

Alert: Roofing Scam Investigations Transitioning to Federal Authorities

Due to an increase in roofing scams reported across Washington and throughout the nation, investigations involving the roofing scam in our region are being handled by federal authorities.

The alleged perpetrators of the scam — a rotating group of men posing as roofers and masons — have left behind a trail of poorly completed or unfinished home improvement projects while defrauding homeowners out of their life savings.

Victims report that the individuals who came to their doors all spoke with distinctive Irish accents.

Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) has established a dedicated email address for individuals who believe they may have been targeted by this roofing operation.

If you believe you are a victim, please contact HSI at [email protected].

When submitting a complaint, include:
• Your name, address, and email
• A summary of what occurred
• Any information you have about the individuals or company involved
• Photos, documents, estimates, contracts, or other related information

🏠 How to protect yourself from roofing scams:
✅ Be cautious of contractors who show up unexpectedly offering immediate repairs
✅ Get multiple written estimates before agreeing to work
✅ Verify the contractor’s license, insurance, and business information
✅ Don’t feel pressured to make a quick decision or sign paperwork on the spot
✅ Be cautious of large upfront payments or requests for cash
✅ Ask for references and check reviews from trusted sources

Reputable contractors will give you time to make an informed decision. If someone pressures you to act immediately, it may be a warning sign.

Share this information with friends, family, and neighbors to help prevent others from becoming victims.

❗National Night Out 2026 Canceled❗

Due to the forecasted unhealthy air quality and excessive heat, the Duvall Police Department has made the difficult decision to cancel tonight's National Night Out activities.

The health and safety of our community, volunteers, partner agencies, and staff must come first.

We know this event is an important opportunity to connect with our neighbors, and we're disappointed that we won't be able to gather this year under these conditions.

Thank you for your understanding, and please take precautions during the heat and poor air quality by staying hydrated, limiting time outdoors, and checking on neighbors who may be more vulnerable.

Yesterday’s Summer Stage concert was an absolute blast! Our officers had so much fun connecting with families and even joining in on the bracelet‑trading fun with the kids. Moments like these remind us how special community partnerships truly are.

Swifties out there!! — tomorrow’s the big night with 13 Til Midnight at Summer Stage! We even got our officers to pitch in on friendship bracelets during their downtime (yes… we definitely nudged them). They’re excited to trade with everyone tomorrow evening. ⚠️Traffic Safety Reminder⚠️

We take traffic violations seriously, and our priority is keeping our community safe. If you witness a traffic violation while it is occurring, please call 911 right away.

For us to take enforcement action, an officer must see the violation in person. Your timely call helps us respond effectively and address unsafe driving behaviors before they lead to harm.

Prevent car prowls by parking in well‑lit areas, locking your doors, and keeping valuables out of sight. Losing personal items from your car can be frustrating at best, and at worst devastating. Remove anything visible through your windows, avoid leaving garage openers or important items in your car, and NEVER store fi****ms in your vehicle.

If your car is ever prowled, report it, cancel any stolen cards, and secure your home if your opener or registration is missing.

These suggestions apply anywhere you park. Cars are easy targets so do not assume your items are safe inside.
