A very busy weekend for your firefighters has continued into this morning. DXFD is currently handling three simultaneous medicals with the help of a mutual aid ambulance from Kingston Fire. This year DXFD has already responded to 1,954 calls. Have a great week and thanks for following and supporting your firefighters.

As the temperatures rise, a cooling center will be open this week to help everyone stay safe and comfortable.

firefighters are currently handling numerous calls for service. In the last 3 hours we have handled 9 simultaneous calls including a transport to Boston due to special circumstances. All off-duty firefighters have been recalled three times to cover the town as well as numerous mutual aid ambulances to assist with on going calls.

Nick Spinale, 28, and member of Chelmsford Local 1839 for two and a half years, was injured on Tuesday morning during the performance of his duties, training other firefighters. Nick fell approximately 40 feet from a window and sustained multiple serious injuries, including facial fractures, severe internal organ damage, and fractures to both wrists. He faces a long road to recovery, including several surgeries to fix his injuries.
