firefighters are currently handling numerous calls for service. In the last 3 hours we have handled 9 simultaneous calls including a transport to Boston due to special circumstances. All off-duty firefighters have been recalled three times to cover the town as well as numerous mutual aid ambulances to assist with on going calls.

Nick Spinale, 28, and member of Chelmsford Local 1839 for two and a half years, was injured on Tuesday morning during the performance of his duties, training other firefighters. Nick fell approximately 40 feet from a window and sustained multiple serious injuries, including facial fractures, severe internal organ damage, and fractures to both wrists. He faces a long road to recovery, including several surgeries to fix his injuries.

After last year’s failed override, Derek was instrumental in organizing the vote that reinstated two Firefighter/Paramedics positions who were set to lose their job. Derek is a big supporter of public safety in Duxbury and has shown consistent support for the members of Local 2167 and the Duxbury Fire Department.

All firefighters have been recalled to cover the town as our firefighter/paramedics continue assisting Rockland Fire Department at their 3rd-alarm nursing home fire.
