With some much needed rain hopefully on the way, it’s a good time to share an important reminder.

Dwight Fire responded to five different calls for service yesterday, including both mutual aid and incidents within our own district. All involving grass fires. Each fire was intentionally set with good intentions. However, even with good intent, burn bans are in place for a reason.

We strongly encourage everyone to check current fire conditions before burning and verify whether a burn ban is in effect. This information can be found here:

You may also contact Richland County Dispatch at 701-642-7777 for current burn information.

If a burn ban is in effect and a fire is reported, fire resources will be dispatched to extinguish it.

Let’s hope for some much-needed rain. Please take all necessary precautions before burning and always check current fire danger ratings and restrictions

Just like that we’re back!
Fire weather is here!🔥

🚩Red Flag Warning is in effect🚩

Same song and dance you heard us sing last fall and last spring.

Please use smart decision making when burning. Please no burning at all with Red Flag Warning in effect.

As always if you see smoke call 911 immediately.

Dwight Fire is gearing up for a potentially busy season. Please help us out by making smart decisions. Be fire aware.
