Congratulations! Yesterday, the Kansas Book Festival awarded Technology and Book grants to support Kansas Libraries across the state. We were glad to host the celebration! We’re excited to announce the book for our Fall book club! We will be reading Tom Lake by Ann Patchett!

Tom Lake is a meditation on youthful love, married love, and the lives parents have led before their children were born. Both hopeful and elegiac, it explores what it means to be happy even when the world is falling apart.

In the spring of 2020, Lara’s three daughters return to the family's orchard in Northern Michigan. While picking cherries, they beg their mother to tell them the story of Peter Duke, a famous actor with whom she shared both a stage and a romance years before at a theater company called Tom Lake. As Lara recalls the past, her daughters examine their own lives and relationship with their mother, and are forced to reconsider the world and everything they thought they knew.

Come pick up your copy at the library or listen to the audiobook for free on Libby! We will meet on Friday, October 9th at 7pm for a book discussion and trivia with themed refreshments and treats!

Exciting news all.... Our library is now doing Inter-library loan! This means we can request books from all of the participating libraries in NCKLS!
It also means that we need padded envelopes to ship books to other places. If you have any laying around or can start collecting them when you receive packages, we would love to have them!

Also!! The summer/fall book study will begin soon. "Tom Lake" by Ann Patchett will be the book....and you do not want to miss this one! We will post when books are ready for pick up! 📖

On Sunday, the community came together to learn more about Natuve American Ribbonwork. Through the generous Humanities Kansas program, Jancita Warrington presented to us on her traditions and the craft of her ribbonwork. It was a great afternoon. We hope you'll join us next time!

Good morning all! Did you know that we accept book donations?! Right now, we are all caught up and could process more. 📖

We put newer releases that we don't have on the shelf and put duplicates in our free library. We also trade some in for credit and use the funds for library programs!

With our biggest ROAR, we finished out the summer reading program!

Activity/Reading sheets can gmbe turned in before school starts in August.
