📚 Make a Difference in Your Community — Serve on the Library Board!

Are you passionate about education, literacy, and community engagement? Our local library is looking for dedicated individuals to serve on the Library Board!

Library board members play an important role in shaping the future of the library — helping guide policies, support strategic planning, advocate for funding, and ensure the library continues to meet the needs of our community.

You don’t need to be a librarian — just someone who:
✔️ Cares about access to information and lifelong learning
✔️ Wants to support programs for children, teens, and adults
✔️ Believes in the power of community spaces
✔️ Is willing to collaborate and contribute ideas

Serving on the board is a meaningful way to give back, build leadership experience, and help strengthen a resource that benefits everyone.

We are pleased to announce the availability of 4,100 new pages of materials in the Dwight History Archive, thanks to the generosity of our donors who have helped us process the vast collections in our vault. This latest addition includes significant collections such as Dwight Comets from 1943-1953, a compilation of Czech writings, and documents from the Junior Fire Department dated 1945-1953, among others. Users can search these archives by name, date, or title. Please visit https://dwight.historyarchives.online/home.

Dwight Community Library offers internet access, copying services, a public restroom, periodicals, DVDs and CDs for check out in addition to an extensive collection of fine literature.

While the population of Dwight, Nebraska may be small, their annual celebrations honoring the community Czech heritage is anything but.

Stop by the library and pick up your Czech pride yard signs! $20 for Vitame Vas. $30 to order a custom surname sign (to be ordered and delivered at a later date).

We just got brand new dual language books in Czech and English. We also redid the whole children section.

Add some Czech pride to your yard just in time for the Czech Fest. 🇨🇿 The Dwight Library has yard signs for sale for $20. We only have 20 of these 2 sided heavy duty 💪🏻 signs available so first come first serve!

These will be available at the library during normal hours Wednesday and all weekend during open hours. Stop by and grab one for a good cause!

If you'd like a more ✨️custom✨️ feel... we are taking orders for signs with your Czech surname for $30. These will NOT be done by this weekend but you can be ready for next year!! Please message or comment if you'd like to order.
