We did some classroom training on Anhydrous Ammonia the other night for our monthly training & also practiced using our 2-way headset radios which we’ll use fighting grass fires. These will be so useful & make fighting fires so much safer since the driver & the firefighter spraying water will be able to communicate!

🇨🇿🇺🇸🚒🚑 It was sure a hot one but also a really fun Czech Festival!! We want to thank everyone who came out to enjoy the parade, those who participated & for our Mutual Aid Depts; Brainard Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department, Ulysses Volunteer Fire Dept, & Valparaiso Fire & Rescue for joining us for the parade! Our Grand Marshalls were Military members in honor of America’s 250th! A big thanks also to Bohunk Baggers for providing lots on fun with the annual corn hole tourney. Dwight Fire & Rescue also provided support for the fantastic fireworks show!! We made it thru the weekend with no fire or rescue calls, which doesn’t usually happen, we appreciate everyone staying safe & esp staying hydrated!! See ya all next year!!!

A few weeks ago Dwight participated in an active practice house burn in Ulysses. It was great training to practice interior attack especially for our newer Firefighters. It also provides opportunity to run & set up equipment, practice nozzle technique, to learn how to put on or help others with SCBA’s & to work with other departments. Great training day!! 🚒🔥
