The Dyer Fire Department will be conducting training in an acquired structure near Main Street and Sheffield Avenue tonight and on multiple days over the next several weeks.

Residents and motorists may see fire apparatus, firefighters, and smoke in the area during these training evolutions. Please know that the smoke and emergency activity are part of our training and do not represent an actual emergency or threat to the community.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as our firefighters train to be ready when you need us most.

Our family, helping yours.

**Update** Detectives have identified the vehicle involved as a Mazda CX3 with a "Hoonigan" novelty plate of "T1RESLYR" as seen below. This is not a real license plate, if observed on a vehicle please call 911.

A ruse burglary is a crime where an offender uses deception and trickery to distract a homeowner, allowing an accomplice to slip inside and steal valuables, often posing as a utility worker.

At approximately 7:00 p.m. last night, in the Pheasant Hills neighborhood, the subject and vehicle shown below committed a ruse burglary. This post is to remind our residents to remain vigilant against these types of crimes. We are also asking for help, if anyone has camera footage of the vehicle or suspect, please email Commander Shane Hendron at [email protected]

If someone is at your door, do not let them inside. Contact 911 and our officers will confirm their identity prior to any work being completed.

🚨 STORM CLEANUP ASSISTANCE

The Town of Dyer is pleased to welcome GoServ Global to assist residents with cleanup following the August 11 storm.

GoServ Global volunteers will assist with storm-related debris removal, downed trees and branches, and other hands-on cleanup, with priority given to residents who may not have the physical ability or resources to complete the work themselves.

⚠️ PLEASE NOTE: If you already have limbs or branches placed at the parkway for pickup, you do not need to register for this assistance. Town crews and contractors are actively working throughout Dyer to collect existing parkway limb piles.

🏠 NEED ADDITIONAL STORM CLEANUP HELP?
Call Dyer Town Hall at 219-865-6108 to be added to the GoServ Global assistance list.
