Congratulations to our GCHS and SGCHS students selected for the 2026–27 Gibson County Leadership (Youth) Class! 🎉

GCHS: Jaxon Abbott, Annalise Eddlemon, and Brady Owens

SGCHS: Ava Owens, Rylee Hood, Tanner McFadden, and Hayden Russom

We are proud of each of you and excited to see you grow as leaders this year!

Congrats to year’s Youth Leadership Class! These students applied for and were chosen from a panel of community leaders to participate in the program, and we can’t wait to work with each of them!!

We’re proud to celebrate Ms. Samantha Ellis at South Gibson County Elementary School and the impact she’s making through support from the Leaders Education Foundation! 💙

Thank you, Leaders Education Foundation, for investing in our teachers and helping bring meaningful opportunities to GCSSD students and families!

Samantha Ellis with South Gibson County Elementary School wanted to create more opportunities for families to connect with their child's learning. With support from a LEADS Classroom Grant, she was able to provide additional resources that encouraged participation in monthly family engagement events for every Pre-K classroom, including VPK and special education students.

The result was the highest family attendance she's seen during her time as a Pre-K teacher; a reminder of the difference strong school and family partnerships can make.

If you have an idea that could make a positive impact in your classroom, LEADS Grant applications are now open. We'd love to hear your story.
