Dyer Fraternal Order of Police The Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) is a fraternal organization consisting of sworn law enforcement officers from the across the nation.

The FOP reports a membership of over 325,000 members nationwide with 2100 local chapters (lodges), which are organized into local lodges, state lodges, and the national Grand Lodge. The organization attempts to improve the working conditions of law enforcement officers and the safety of those they serve through education, legislation, information, community involvement, and employee representation

. Dyer Lodge 169 is comprised of all currently and formally sworn Dyer Police Officers. Lodge 169 hosts several community friendly events throughout the year including the National Night Out Against Crime and Shop With a Cop. Lodge 169 also donates to local organizations such as the Dyer Little League, Kahler PTO, and Dyer Girls Softball. Lodge 169 has over 800 associate members.

It is with profound sadness that the St. John Police Department announces the loss of one of its own yesterday. The Dyer FOP is deeply honored to have had the privilege of serving alongside Det. Amptmeyer. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, as well as the entire St. John PD and all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. May he rest in peace.

Today, the Dyer FOP took eight kids out for an unforgettable shopping experience at the Walmart Schererville. This event would not be successful if it was not for Walmart employees who planned and set up this event. A big thank you to Frankie's Auto Sales for their generosity every year too ensure that the event is a success. Lastly, The Dyer FOP hosted multiple events throughout the year where people in the community donated to make days like this so special. Thank you to the community and the constant support. Great things are never done by one person; they're done by a team. It takes a village, thanks for the support.

The Dyer FOP would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mike Conneen for generously supplying our organization with Thanksgiving Day turkeys. Thanks to his kindness, we were able to provide these turkeys to several families in town, helping to make their holiday celebrations a little brighter.
We wish everyone a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving!
