In a world often filled with negativity, let's recognize positive moments like this.

When our crew got a call about smoke in a first-grade class at Christ Classical, they responded quickly and safely. Instead of just leaving, Lieutenant Jeremy McNutt took time to explain the Thermal Imaging Camera to the curious kiddos. He moved from desk to desk, showing the device and answering their questions. The Dyersburg Fire Department takes pride in firefighters who go the extra mile. What could have been a quick response turned into a valuable fire safety lesson for the eager children. Thank you to CCA for reaching out and letting us know.

On Wednesday, February 11, 2026, the Dyersburg Fire Department responded to a structure fire on St. John Avenue. Upon arrival, flames were seen accompanied by thick black smoke.

These firefighters worked tirelessly to ensure everyone was safe, accounted for, and that the fire was fully extinguished. To know these men and women is to respect them—not only for the job they do, but for the constant effort they put in every single day. Whether responding to an active fire scene or dedicating hours to training, they never stop preparing or learning. And when it’s time to put that knowledge and training on the line, they never give up.

When these firefighters step into the station every third day, they never know what the next call will bring. But no matter the situation, they stand ready to serve and protect our community.
