Colorado joins people across the country in remembering Dolly Parton, an icon whose legacy extends far beyond music. 💛

Dolly dedicated much of her life to helping children become lifelong readers. Through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, children from birth to age 5 receive a free book each month, helping families build home libraries and a love of reading from the very beginning.

Her legacy has made a lasting impact right here in Colorado:
📚 3.5 million+ books mailed to Colorado children since 2021
📬 92,000+ children currently receiving books each month
🎓 62,000+ five-year-olds who have graduated from the program
💙 29% of Colorado children ages 0–5 currently enrolled

We also recognize Jack Tate, CEO/President of Imagination Library of Colorado and Sen. Jeff Bridges, whose work helped bring the program to Colorado and extend Dolly’s vision to families across our state.

Thank you, Dolly, for showing what can happen when we put books in the hands of children. Your legacy will live on through millions of stories shared, pages turned, and young readers inspired.

The Summer Reading Program may be over, but that doesn't mean there aren't more opportunities to enjoy a book during the summer. Starting next week, we will have the first of four Thursday Morning Story Times! The first Story Time will take place on Thursday, July 23rd outside on the Courthouse lawn from 11:00am to 11:30am for kids ages 3-6.

ATTENTION! 🫘There are still some bagged beans out back of the office. -- The leftover produce would be great for someone's animals.

📦If you would like your senior box for July, it will need to be picked up by Wednesday 22nd by 2:00 P.M. otherwise your box will be forfeited for the month of July. 📦

Commodity truck has left. Free outback: yellow squash, carrots, oranges, corn on the cob, bags of lentils, kidney beans, great Northern beans, green split peas, and chickpeas.

Please come to the front to pick up your senior box for July by Thursday, July 23 by 4:00 PM.

Reminder, we will not have a commodity distribution in July, next commodity distribution will be August 10th.
