When the library is able to move to Maine Street, we will be able to revitalize our collections. Sections of the library, especially the nonfiction sections, have limited space in which to add newer titles. For some topics, especially those based in science and technology, the rate of new research and information can be very quick and hard to keep up with in a small space. On Maine Street, there will be more room to give these topics the shelf space they deserve, which in turn will give expanded access to current information for general knowledge, personal learning, and research for school projects.

Grab your paper and pencils! We'll be at the F&J Bendorf Building - Country Elegance for the KCPLD Writing Club this evening! The event starts at 5:30 PM and end at 7:30 PM. It doesn't matter what you're working on (a blog, a series of Facebook posts, or an autobiography) writers of all projects are welcome!

What's more fun than sitting at home on a Wednesday evening? Going to a Trivia Night of course! Our next Trivia Night event is coming up! Join us on Wednesday, June 10th in the Plains Theatre at 6pm for an evening of fun and interesting facts!

Join us next Wednesday, May 27th, at the F&J Bendorf Building - Country Elegance for the second meeting of the KCPLD Writing Club. The event will start at 5:30 PM and end at 7:30 PM. Whether you're working on a short story, a school report, or a personal journal, bring your writing tools of choice, some water, and get words on the page!

What if there wasn’t a library in Eads? By getting a library card in Eads, people have access to more than just the books physically on our shelves. Cardholders can also log into the CloudLibrary. This service provides access to a wide variety of Ebooks and audiobooks in multiple genres, for all ages, without having to leave the comfort of your home. Without the library in Eads, community members would have to get a card at another library that participates in the CloudLibrary to have access to this service.

The library and the Plains Theatre have been talking...and we have the next FOUR movie matinees planned for the summer! All four movies will be on the third Sunday of the month at 2:00 pm. Here's what coming:
May 17 - "Back to the Future"
June 21 - "The Land Before Time"
July 19 - "Jumanji"
August 16 - "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian"

School is almost over, and Summer Reading is right around the corner! The theme this year is "Unearth a Story" and you know what that means.....DINOSAURS! We will have some awesome books and activities about these prehistoric critters.

This year is also the 250th birthday of the United States, and the 150th birthday for Colorado! There will be plenty of stories to "Unearth" about our country and state!

Summer Reading activities will take place on June 24, July 1, July 8, and July 15. Registration will start on May 13.

What stories are you most looking forward to unearthing this summer?
