"The war against Big To***co is not over—and in many ways, it is becoming more complicated and more difficult to win," writes American Cancer Society and American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network - ACS CAN CEO Shane Jacobson in U.S. News and World Report.

We're witnessing a troubling phenomenon: the reglamorization of ci******es and to***co products. This is not an accident.

To***co incidents in movies increased by 70% between 2022 and 2023. Magazines have also welcomed to***co back into their pages. And as Big To***co has expanded into a new generation of products, social media is filled with influencers promoting ni****ne pouches and other products to millions of followers.

Research consistently shows that exposure to to***co makes young people more likely to initiate smoking. If we are serious about protecting the next generation from addiction and disease, all of us must recommit to the proven to***co control strategies that have saved lives for decades.

Congress can’t afford to ignore these warning signs.

To protect the next generation, we must recommit to proven strategies to curb smoking and to***co use that have saved lives for decades.

Team had a great time at Farmfest yesterday as part of American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network - ACS CAN 's work! We went to attend the Governor Forum and US Senate Forum to hear what candidates had to say about important issues, including access to health care in rural Minnesota.

We visited all of the campaign booths we could find for candidates running for Governor and US Senate, and got to talk to Michele Tafoya for Senate and Royce White about the and why the fight against cancer matters.

We're excited to really kick off our campaigns next week after the Tuesday Primary election and make cancer an election issue in the Governor and Senate races!

Big thanks to volunteer leaders, Jenn and Sandi, for making it down to Southwestern Minnesota for the day.

A new FDA policy allows e-ci******es and ni****ne pouches—including kid-friendly flavors—to be sold without the scientific review and marketing authorization required by law. This threatens our hard-won progress reducing youth to***co use.

We're joining a coalition of public health organizations, pediatricians and parents in challenging this unlawful policy in court. Read the statement: https://www.fightcancer.org/releases/public-health-groups-pediatricians-and-parents-sue-fda-over-policy-allowing-marketing
