🚩 Red Flag Warning in Effect 🚩

A Red Flag Warning has been issued for our area and will be in effect Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Critical fire weather conditions including strong winds, low humidity, and dry fuels will create an increased risk for rapid wildfire growth.

We ask all residents and visitors to use extreme caution:

• Avoid any outdoor burning
• Do not park vehicles on dry grass
• Properly secure trailer chains to prevent sparks
• Avoid activities that create sparks or open flames
• Report any signs of smoke or fire immediately

Round Valley Fire & Medical is closely monitoring conditions and stands ready to respond. Help us keep our community safe by doing your part during this warning period.

Round Valley Fire and Medical would like to inform the community that a planned controlled burn will be taking place in the airport area. This burn is being conducted as a proactive safety measure to reduce excess vegetation and lower fire risk for future fire seasons.

Residents may see smoke in the area during operations. Please do not be alarmed, as crews will be on scene monitoring conditions closely to ensure the burn is conducted safely.

These efforts help protect our community, airport property, and surrounding areas from the threat of future wildfires. We appreciate your understanding and support as we work to keep Round Valley safe.

Today, we honor the life and legacy of Assistant Chief Calvin “Cal” Smith.

Cal began his service with the Springerville Fire Department in 1990 and dedicated 25 years to protecting and serving our community. His leadership, commitment, and passion for the fire service left a lasting impact on our department and the people of Springerville.

In 2026, we lost a respected leader, mentor, and friend. Cal’s legacy will continue to live on through the many firefighters he guided and the community he cared for so deeply.

We invite our community, friends, and fellow firefighters to join us for a remembrance ceremony in his honor:

Please join us as we come together to celebrate Cal’s life, his service, and the lasting impact he made on all of us.

🔥 Pinning Ceremony – Round Valley Fire & Medical Department 🔥

Last night, we proudly recognized and celebrated three outstanding leaders during a special Pinning Ceremony.

Please join us in congratulating Captain Levi McDowell, Captain Bridger Ashcroft, and Captain Adam Fisher on their promotion and continued dedication to the Round Valley Fire & Medical Department.

Each of these men has demonstrated unwavering commitment, professionalism, and servant leadership in protecting and serving our community. The badge they wear represents not only rank, but responsibility, sacrifice, and trust — and we are confident they will continue to uphold the highest standards of the fire service.

We would also like to extend our deepest gratitude to their families. Behind every firefighter is a family who shares in the long shifts, missed holidays, and late-night calls. Your support makes their service possible, and we recognize the sacrifices you make alongside them.

Please help us congratulate Captains McDowell, Ashcroft, and Fisher on this well-earned achievement. We are proud to serve alongside you. 👏🚒

Round Valley Fire & Medical Department is proud to share that we have been awarded $12,947 from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety to purchase new, modern vehicle extrication equipment.

These upgraded tools—often known as the “Jaws of Life”—will help our firefighters remove trapped patients faster, more safely, and more efficiently during motor vehicle collisions. Faster extrication means quicker access to medical care and improved outcomes for those involved in serious crashes.

This grant also enhances firefighter safety by providing lighter, more powerful equipment designed for today’s vehicle technology.

We are grateful to the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety for supporting our rural community and helping us continue to improve public safety throughout the Round Valley area.

Thank you for your continued support!
