SMALL BUSINESS GRANT PORTAL OPENS OCTOBER 13-23
On October 9, The State announced the opening of the Small Business and Healthcare Provider Relief Program, which will utilize up to $580 million in Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF) dollars to assist small businesses, community-based healthcare providers, and non-profits negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The ONLINE application process for the small business funds is slated to begin on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 and end on Friday, October 23. Program FAQ's can be found at covid.sd.gov by clicking on the Small Business & Healthcare Grants button.
The Small Business COVID Interruption Grant is for businesses that can show a loss in income from March-August 2020 compared to March-August 2019. A total of $400 million has been allocated for this program.
The Small Business start up grant is for businesses who have registered with the state between September 1, 2019 and June 1, 2020 whose growth has been impacted. Businesses must show a loss in 3 of 6 months between March and August 2020 or an average monthly income during this period that is less than 120% of the average monthly income prior to March 1. A total of $10 million has been allocated for this program.
