November/December 2022: -Fabiola Ramos soaring Eagle November/December 2022:
The ECSO Culture team and Civil Clerk Karla Cornejo, the previous Soaring Eagle from 2022,October would like to announce that Detention’s Fabiola Ramos is the newest recipient of the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office ‘Soaring Eagle Award’ for December 2022.
Fabiola joined the Eagle County Sheriff's Office team in December 2020 as a Detention Cook for the Detention Division. Fabiola is noted as a pleasure to work with, an all-around awesome person, and a great team member. She often stops by the Sheriff’s Front Office with her fabulous cookies. Everyone looks forward to her visits as she brings smiles to everyone’s faces with her light and cheerful personality.
Fabiola stepped up this summer and fall to help fill in the staffing challenges the detentions kitchen faced. She helped with everything from meal planning to ex*****on while keeping nutrition standards and staying within budget. She has been great at working with the inmates and helping pass on skills in the kitchen they can take into the real world. She is patient, a great leader and teacher in her kitchen.
Character: Fabiola just has a great attitude, is very professional, and really cares about those around her.
Integrity: Fabiola takes pride in all she does for the Eagle County Sheriff’s Detentions team, and she makes the extra effort every chance she gets. She does an outstanding job with the meals she prepares for our facilities and it shows.
Dependability: Fabiola is always on time and makes the extra effort and she is very much appreciated. This effort was really appreciated during the staffing challenges our detentions kitchen faced.
Congratulations to you Fabiola, thank you for your professionalism, service, and dedication to your Eagle County Sheriff’s Office team and the community.

Community Affairs Officer - Public Information Officer.

The Eagle County Sheriff's Office's Community Affairs Officer serves as an informational resource between the community, guests, partners, and local law enforcement to increase awareness, transparency, and participation in prevention and safety campaigns. Plans and implements events with community partners, staff, and volunteers to advance the mission, vision, and values of the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office. Provides administrative support for all Sheriff’s Office staff and enforcement teams.

Schedule:
Monday- Friday 8AM-5PM although, this person is responsible for working a variety of hours which includes being on-call and available for events, emergency call-outs, and media issues.

Qualifications:
-High school diploma or equivalent.
-Valid State Driver’s License and a satisfactory motor vehicle record.
-An associate degree or continuing education in Administration, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field from an accredited college or university is preferred.
-Three years of responsible experience in law enforcement or related field, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
-Must be able to successfully complete a polygraph test, psychological exam, fitness test,
physical, drug screen, and detailed background investigation.
-Must not have used illegal drugs within the past 3 years or ma*****na within the past 1 year.
-Must not have been convicted of any felonies or any acts involving domestic violence.

It is with a heavy heart that we stand with our Arvada brothers and sisters.

It is with a heavy heart & deep sorrow that we inform you an Arvada Police Officer has been killed serving his community. The officer was responding to a call for service on a disturbance in the 6700 block of W 51st Ave. when he was killed. There is an ongoing investigation into the incident and more information will be released as it becomes available. Chief Strate will hold a press conference later this morning regarding this incident, we will update you here with a time & location.
