If you haven’t been to the Eagle Police Department Lobby recently, you might be surprised to find out it is being extensively remodeled.

Due to construction, our lobby will be closed from Monday, August 24th and until Friday, August 28th.

Deputies will still be out patrolling and responding to calls for service as usual.

For emergencies, please call 9-1-1. For non-emergencies, please contact Ada County Dispatch 208-377-6790 to speak with a deputy.

Detective Germain Neumann has dedicated 19 years of service to the Ada County Sheriff’s Office. Since 2015, Detective Neumann has had the privilege of serving the Eagle Police Department as a patrol deputy, and now as a detective. Throughout his career, Deputy Neumann has served in a variety of assignments, including jail deputy, transport deputy, patrol deputy, School Resource Officer, and detective.

Currently, Detective Neumann serves as a Property Crimes Detective, focusing on investigations related to burglaries, grand thefts, and organized/transnational or traveling criminal groups. He has also developed specialized expertise in cellular analysis, becoming one of the very limited number of law enforcement investigators in the nation to have achieved Subject Matter Expert certification through the Gladiator Forensics program in RF Technology.

Outside of his professional life, Detective Neumann enjoys spending quality time with his family, watching football, and being in the mountains. He also has an unexpected talent for baking. Throughout his career, Detective Neumann has valued the opportunity to serve our community and work alongside the dedicated men and women of the Ada County Sheriff’s Office and Eagle Police Department.

West Ada schools are back in session tomorrow, which means it’s time to say goodbye to summer.

Our SROs made the most of their summer assignments! Detectives Kelch and Howell enjoyed spending their days patrolling the lake, while Detective Anderson enjoyed working the foothills in the UTV.

Detective Howell (Eagle Elementary schools SRO) is looking forward to seeing the kids and building positive relationships.

Detective Anderson (Eagle High School SRO) is looking forward to seeing the staff, the students, and Friday Night Lights.

Detective Kelch (Eagle Middle School SRO) is looking forward to meeting new students and getting back out with the football team to compete for another District Championship.

2026 - 2027 is going to be a great school year!

Eagle Police Deputy Gehl, along with Ada County Sheriff's Office Detective Garza and Deputy Walker, stopped by the Detective Day Camp at Girl Scouts of Silver Sage Council this morning to talk with campers about their respective roles and share some safety tips!

Deputy Gehl talked about what it's like to patrol the streets of Eagle, showed the girls her equipment, and let them check out her patrol Tahoe.

It's always rewarding to connect with kids in our community -- we had a great time!

Here’s a summary of the Eagle Police monthly stats for June 2026.

Our deputies are almost always proactively policing and we appreciate when citizens call Ada County dispatch for a deputy response. These citizen calls for service help us be where help is needed.

We’re grateful for our community and their willingness to share any concerns they see within our community.

This past Saturday at approximately 3:15 p.m., one of our Eagle Police motors patrolling Highway 16 stopped a driver going 129 mph in a posted 55 mph construction zone between W. Chinden Blvd. and SH 44 — 74 mph over the limit. The driver was arrested for {M} Reckless Driving and the vehicle was impounded.

Heads up: Idaho’s reckless driving law had some additions that took effect July 1. Driving 20+ mph over the posted speed limit in an active school zone with children present, or in a construction zone with workers present, is now included.

Since the law took effect on July 1, we've issued approximately 14 Reckless Driving citations along this same stretch of Highway 16, with speeds ranging from 80 to 129 mph.

With school starting in about a month and road work continuing through the summer, we're asking drivers to slow down, especially in school and construction zones where children and workers may be present.

Emergencies don’t wait — stay informed when it matters most. Ada Alert is Ada County Dispatch’s new emergency notification system, covering wildfires, evacuations, floods, missing vulnerable adults, and more right here in Eagle and throughout Ada County. This is especially important for residents who live in our fire prone foothill areas.

After July 31st, Ada County will no longer be using the CodeRed alerting system. If you subscribed to CodeRed, you’ll need to sign up for Ada Alert separately to keep receiving alerts — this one won’t carry over automatically.

On July 6, 2026, at approximately 11:56 a.m., Eagle Police and Ada County Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to reports of an injury crash at the intersection of E. State St. and S. Edgewood Ln. in Eagle.

Preliminary information indicates that a 2004 Ford Thunderbird, driven by a 91-year-old female, was turning left to go southbound onto S. Edgewood Ln. when her vehicle collided with a 2024 GMC Sierra being driven by a 48-year-old male traveling eastbound on E. State St. In both vehicles, the drivers were the sole occupants.

As a result of the collision, both drivers were transported to a local hospital. On July 9, 2026, the driver of the Ford Thunderbird succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. The female’s identity may be released by the Ada County Coroner’s Office at a later date pending notification to next of kin.

This incident is currently under investigation by the Ada County Sheriff’s Office Collision Reconstruction Team.
